The tank is waterlogged and repair hasn't held
Corrosion or rust-through on a galvanized tank
You're upgrading a well system and the current tank is undersized
Pressure tank installs are one of the most common well-system jobs we do outside Reading, since most of the county's rural townships rely on private wells rather than municipal water.

John did a great job replacing our grinder pump in our basement. His communication leading up to him arriving and while he was on site was on point. He was in and out in under an hour and a half. As far as the company as a whole, I reached out to multiple plumbers, and I found this one to have great customer service, very reasonable prices, and just an overall great experience. We would definitely go back to Berks Plumbing and HVAC for any needs we have in the future. Thanks to John, and the entire team!Posted on Google![]()

Our well pump decided to stop working on us over the weekend. We called Burke’s plumbing specialist and made an appointment for the next day. I’m Mike showed up this morning on time and really did a great job on estimating the work. 1-1-2 hours later Jose and luke show up, again two more hard working get it done guys. Fast, worked great together as a team and just got it done. Cleaned up after themselves really did a good job. I couldn’t be happier Thank youPosted on Google![]()

The central A/C in my small home (1104 square feet) was blowing warm air during a heat wave, so I called and spoke with Mike, who communicated with me in a friendly manner. He asked me if I could leave the door open while I was at work, or leave a key, which wasn’t something I felt comfortable with. So I was grateful when a technician came out and checked my outdoor unit without needing me home. Once I got a call back, I was told that my outdoor unit was totally shot and the indoor unit would have to be replaced as well due to updated freon regulations. I asked how they could be so sure, considering my indoor unit is much newer than my outdoor unit, and nobody had seen it yet. They then asked me how old it is, and I estimated it was 13 years old. I was quoted a price of $15,816 (yes, almost sixteen thousand dollars) without being given options on equipment or pricing. I was encouraged to apply for financing or find a family member who could lend me money. I was also given an “8% discount” to help, and strongly urged to have the system replaced the following day. I decided to get a second opinion out of necessity, and that company came out and fixed my central A/C for $350, by replacing the capacitor which had failed and wasn’t starting the fan (hence the warm air). I would recommend always getting a second opinion because what one technician thinks may vastly differ from what another may find, and you could save yourself thousands of dollars.

FAQ
Plumbing and HVAC issues can disrupt daily comfort, from leaks to heating problems. Our team provides reliable solutions for your home. Have questions about your system?
What does a pressure tank do?
A pressure tank stores water under pressure and helps maintain consistent water flow while reducing wear on your well pump.
How do I know if my pressure tank is failing?
Frequent pump cycling, low water pressure, waterlogged tank symptoms and fluctuating pressure are common signs of a problem.
How often should a pressure tank be serviced?
Most well systems benefit from annual inspections to help identify issues early and maintain reliable performance.
Can a faulty pressure tank damage my well pump?
Yes. A failing pressure tank can cause your well pump to cycle too often, which may shorten its lifespan.
Do you offer financing for pressure tank installation?
Yes. We offer financing options for qualified homeowners to help make well system upgrades more manageable.
Can a faulty pressure tank damage my well pump?
Yes. A tank with incorrect pressure or a damaged bladder can cause frequent pump cycling, which accelerates pump wear and may lead to early failure.
How does Berks Plumbing Specialist determine the right tank size?
We evaluate your well system, household water usage, and pump capacity to select a pressure tank that ensures consistent performance.
